Staff Who Work Off-Campus or With Their Own Equipment Overview
Introduction
This policy promotes good practice to ensure the security of information accessed off-campus, or on campus through non - University equipment. Mobile working is possible using the Virtual Private Network (for SHU staff only), staff remote desktop (for SHU staff only), and/or on-line remote file access technology (for SHU staff only), although access to some University systems will require written permission from the system owners. All sensitive University information must be encrypted to the required level.

- Mobile working with data is possible if certain criteria are met,
- All non-University devices used must have current and active security protection in place,
- Disclosure of loss of data must be reported as soon as possible to the University Information Governance Officer via the DTS Service Desk (for SHU staff only),
- Theft or loss of University equipment must be reported to the DTS Service Desk on extension 3333 or via https://go.shu.ac.uk/staffDTScontactus.
